Aketajawe-Lolobata National Park

Taman Nasional Aketajawe-Lolobata on Halmahera island, North Maluku, is a conservation park for 23 species endemic birds of the rarest in the world. An area of 167 300 hectares and was declared a national park in 2004 is a paradise for watching the most beautiful birds in the world.

Aketajawe-Lolobata National Park was set on October 18, 2004 stood at a total area of 167 300 hectares or approximately 9% of the island of Halmahera. The park is divided into two blocks region that is Aketajawe 77,100 hectares and Lolobata 90,200 hectares.

Aketajawe include the west coast of the central part of Halmahera and most forests in the central part of Halmahera island and an altitude of 0 to 1,513 meters above sea level, while Lolobata includes Dodaga bay coastal as well as large areas of forest in the peninsula northeast of Halmahera island at an altitude of 0 to 1417 meters above sea level.

The adventurers find beautiful place in the paradise of the rarest birds in the world. Angel bird was gorgeous, unique and good at dancing. More than 104 species of birds in the area as mandar gendang (Habroptila wallacii), cekakak murung (Todiramphus fenubris), kepudang-sungu halmahera (Coracina parvula) and kepudang halmahera (Oriolus phaeocromus).

The types of other birds such as bidadari halmahera (Semioptera wallacii), kakatua putih (Cacatua alba), kasturi ternate (Lorius garrulus), paok halmahera (Pitta maxima), julang irian (Aceros plicatus), gosong kelam (Megapodius freycinet), pergam (Ducula spp.), walik (Ptilinopus spp.) and others.

Five species of birds sub-endemic is nuri-raja ambon (Alisterus amboinensis hypophonius), cekakak-pita biasa (Tanysiptera galatea browningi), kehicap tengkuk-putih (Monarcha pileatus pileatus), bidadari halmahera (Semioptera wallacii halmaherae) and kacamata halmahera (Zosterops atriceps fuscifrons).

There are 23 species of birds protected by the government like elang tiram (Pandion haliaetus), elang bondol (Haliastur indus), junai mas (Caloenas nicobarica), nuri bayan (Eclectus roratus), raja-udang biru-langit (Alcedo azurea), bidadari halmahera, gagak cendrawasih (Lycocorax pyrrhopterus) and so on.

In the river area has fish, shrimp, scallops and others. Plant species is damar (Agathis sp.), cemara gunung (Casuarina sumatrana), bintangur (Calophyllum inophyllum), kayu bugis (Koordersiodendron pinnatum), benuang (Octomeles sumatrana), nyatoh (Palaquium obtusifolium), Anthocephalus chinensis, Duabanga moluccana, Piper aduncum and some types of kenari (Canariumspp.). Various types of orchids and other types of Kantung Semar (Nepenthes sp.) in the highlands.

More than 33 species of mammals are Kuskus Maluku (Phalanger ornatus), bajing terbang (Petaurus breviceps papuanus), kelelawar (ordo: Chiroptera), musang (Viviridae), babi hutan (Sus schrofa), rusa (Cervus timorensis) and several types of mice (muridae).

At least 53 types of reptiles such as kadal air (Hidrosaurus amboinensis), biawak atau soa-soa (Varanus indicus), kadal daun (Emoia sorex), kadal raksasa (Tiliqua gigas), ular Tropidonophis punctiventris, ular python batik (Python reticulatus), ular hitam (Stegonotus batjanensis), and buaya muara (Crocodilus porosus).

At least 17 species of amphibians like the katak pohon hijau (Litoria infrafrenata), katak sungai biasa (Rana papuaatau), katak-katak kerdil (Microhylidae) seperti Oreophryne frontifasciata. Five endemic species of North Maluku and four endemic species Halmahera island is Callulops dubia, Cophixalus montanus, Hylophorbus boettgeri and Hyla rueppelli.

Odzala-Kokoua National Park

Odzala-Kokoua National Park or Odzala National Park is a conservation area of 13,500 sq kilometers (5,200 sq mi) at the Cuvette-Ouest Department, Republic of the Congo, declared a protected area in 1935, biosphere reserves in 1977, and national parks in the year 2001 at. Timang Beach
