Laiwangi Wanggameti National Park

Taman Nasional Laiwangi Wanggameti is protected area of flora and fauna in the district Tabundung, Paberiwai and Pinu Pahar in East Sumba regency, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Park in the south of Sumba island or about 100 kilometers from Waingapu city has an area of 880 square kilometers is representative of all types of forests on Sumba including very rare elfin forest.

Laiwangi Wanggameti National Park is a conservation park which is set in 1998 and has a particularly high value diversity at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level. Region is an integral part of the surrounding environment and applying the principles of ecological sustainability, economic sustainability and social sustainability culture.

Unique composition includes 60 percent are steppe and 40 percent are lowland rain forest and highland rainforest. Travelers can do bird watching in Praing Kareha village to watch purple-crested cockatoo and Sumba hornbill nesting in the trees.

Plant species are guava forest (Syzygium sp.), pulai (Alstonia scholaris), banyan (Ficus sp.), walnuts (Canarium oleosum), cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum), honggi (Myristica littoralis), suren (Toona sureni), taduk (Sterculia foetida), kesambi (Schleichera oleosa), hangkang (Palaquium obovatum) and others.

The park is the habitat of several wild animals are long-tailed macaques (Macaca fascicularis fascicularis), wild boar (Sus sp.), monitor lizard (Varanus salvator), Timor pythons (Phyton timorensis), jungle fowl (Gallus gallus) and others. More than 43 species of butterflies are halipron butterfly (Troides haliphron naias), Elimnias amoena, Sumalia chilo, Ideopsis oberthurii, Athyma karita and others.

Birds are walik rawamanu (Ptilinopus dohertyi), pigeon Sumba (Treron teysmannii) and many other bird species such as genak Sumba (Turnix everetti), cockatoos cempaka (Cacatua sulphurea citrinocristata), parrots (Lorius domicella), Sumba sweep (Ficedula harterti), orioles sungu Sumba (Coracina dohertyi), honey Sumba (Nectarinia buettikoferi) and others.

Laiwangi-Wanggameti also store variety of cultural relics. Region has many ancient graves carved with several features such as horses, buffalo, men and women. Ancient tombs and a symbol of social status of the families left behind to die, Sumba traditional houses and Marapu traditional burial ceremony.

Exotic Panorama like in the Nangga village, Wanggameti village, highlands Katikuwai and Peak Wanggameti. Ecosystems with steep hilly landscape and the valley is a unique natural scenery. Laputi lakes and waterfalls in Praingkareha, Waikanabu waterfalls in Waikanabu village and others.

Timang Beach

Pantai Timang is coastal attraction forms the boundary between Java Island and Indian Ocean in Danggolo Sub-village, Purwodadi Village, Tepus District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, as one of the beaches in Gunung Kidul which has white sand. The beach is in a secluded area between Siung Beach and Sundak Beach where a coral island becomes a lobster habitat.

Odzala-Kokoua National Park or Odzala National Park is a conservation area of 13,500 sq kilometers (5,200 sq mi) at the Cuvette-Ouest Department, Republic of the Congo, declared a protected area in 1935, biosphere reserves in 1977, and national parks in the year 2001 at.
