Bobung village

Desa Bobung is a mask crafts center in Bobung sub-District, Patuk District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta, or about 10 kilometers from ancient Mount Nglanggeran. Exotic village in Sewu Mountains Geopark landscape where majority residents for generations inherit a unique profession as craftsmen of wooden batik masks and cocoa farmers.

Dusun Bobung is unique as the village of wooden batik handicraft centers in the form of classic masks and various shapes of animals such as giraffes, horses, elephants and others. The majority of people work as craftsmen mask, while the other are a cocoa farmers.

The traveler will be watching the residents carve masks in their homes. Various craft tools such as axes, chisels and pry always visible at each place as the unique scenery. The residents are very friendly and show directly the details when creating masks to travelers.

Raw materials used albassia and puley tree are cut to size. The pieces of wood are divided into two for later polished and sculpted. The mask begins to form and entering the refining stage to get batik ornaments. The artisans also make the work of other woods such as animal sculptures, cake container until keychain.

Bobung village history wooden mask originated from the need to classical dance of Panji Mask and still staged to entertain the visitors who came to this day. Panji mask dance performed as a ritual of thanksgiving after the harvest. The shape of the mask is very typical and similar to figures puppet prototype that has a keen eye line to the top and pointy nose.

The travelers can visit the galleries were built around the village and watch the process of making the mask in workshops owned by residents. They also held a home visit for anyone who wants to learn to make wooden masks.

Odzala-Kokoua National Park

Odzala-Kokoua National Park or Odzala National Park is a conservation area of 13,500 sq kilometers (5,200 sq mi) at the Cuvette-Ouest Department, Republic of the Congo, declared a protected area in 1935, biosphere reserves in 1977, and national parks in the year 2001 at. Timang Beach
