Taman Ayun Temple

Pura Taman Ayun is a Balinese Hindu architectural complex built by I Gusti Agung Putu as King of Mengwi in 1634 in Mengwi Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, Bali, or 18 km to the west of Denpasar city. Very beautiful temple has length of 250 meters, width of 100 meters and pond with lotus plants as Pura Paibon or main temple for Mengwi kingdom.

I Gusti Agung Putu build Taman Genter Temple in northern Mengwi Village as a place of worship ancestors. But Taman Gender moved to east and became Pura Taman Ayun following the expansion of Mengwi kingdom. Pura held Piodalan ceremony is a ritual every month to commemorate the first temple construction.

Taman Ayun Temple has undergone a major overhaul in 1937 and 1949 carried out repairs on Kori Agung or gate, Gapura Bentar or arch and Wantilan or substation. The third improvement in 1972 and the last in 1976. The complex is made up of an outer courtyard and three inside courtyards.

In the next round bale is a pond full of lotus and in middle stands a monument to emit water into nine directions. In the east is Pura Luhuring Purnama or a set of small temples.

The first and second courtyard separated by a gate and a barrier building decorated with reliefs of nine gods. To the east is a small temple called Pura Dalem Bekak and in western corner of Kulkul is a hall that has a towering roof.

The third courtyard is the area of highest and most sacred. Pintu Gelung or main door in middle and only opened for sacred ceremonies. In courtyard stands a number of Meru, Candi, Gedong, Padma, Padma Rong Telu and other religious buildings.

Timang Beach

Pantai Timang is coastal attraction forms the boundary between Java Island and Indian Ocean in Danggolo Sub-village, Purwodadi Village, Tepus District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, as one of the beaches in Gunung Kidul which has white sand. The beach is in a secluded area between Siung Beach and Sundak Beach where a coral island becomes a lobster habitat.
