Melo Village

Kampung Melo is a native village in Liang Ndara Village, Sanonggoang District, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, which is 17 kilometers or 45 minutes drive from Labuan Bajo. Liang-Ndara is a remote village where indigenous peoples live from farming and gardening in peace and very friendly to every visitor.

The original tribe of Manggarai inhabitants who inhabit Melo which has hilly topography at an altitude of 624 meters has a panoramic view of the Flores Sea on the western and northern sides. A traditional house stands in the middle of a field become the center of activities that regularly gather together to art in their culture.

This bamboo architecture is a great place to enjoy a cup of Flores coffee or a sip of sopi while watching a group of mothers with a set of musical instruments playing a distinctive rhythm that illustrates the hospitality of the residents in welcoming guests.

Caci is generally played during the harvest season, land clearing ceremonies, and other big ceremonies or staged to welcome important guests. Caci dancers not only danced and whipped the whip, but also sang. Caci dance is also a medium of proof of the power of a Manggarai man.

The Ndundu-Ndake dance is a dance performed by women in which they wear kebaya and Flores woven fabrics to portray a hospitality in welcoming guests, while Tetek Alu is a bamboo baton dance where players jump on bamboo moves.

Timang Beach

Pantai Timang is coastal attraction forms the boundary between Java Island and Indian Ocean in Danggolo Sub-village, Purwodadi Village, Tepus District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, as one of the beaches in Gunung Kidul which has white sand.
