Cloud 9 or Cloud Nine is one of the best surf spots where the Pacific waves crash into coral reefs in the southwestern part of the ocean on the east coast of Siargao Island in General Luna, 1st District, Surigao del Norte Province, Caraga Region, Philippines.

Cloud Nine is a perfect barreling right hand reef break that can be both fun and challenging as one of the world's most famous and best waves in the Philippines. Breakthroughs are superficial on the reef and are recommended for advanced surfers, although within walking distance to Cloud 9 will find beginner surfers with an experienced guide.

The reefs will be inundated during high tide, while very shallow during low tide and high risk of injury or damage to the board. At low tide, the largest part of the dry reefs surrounds the boardwalk and tower to watch surfers get ride one by one barrel as high as 2-8 meters.

Cloud 9 is Siargao Cup's annual location is a domestic and international competition sponsored by the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte. The wave was popularized by surfers in the late 1980s. Cloud 9 also has a reputation as a relatively inexpensive destination for surfers with plenty of accommodation, restaurants and bars.

Siargao Island is known as the "Philippines Surfing Capital" with a worldwide reputation. Several other quality waves on Siargao Island and nearby islands or in the Tuason Point and General Luna areas are easily accessible via long docks from the coastline and without the need for a boat ride, but Cloud 9 is the most challenging among surfers.

Routes and public transport: Flights to Sayak Airport in Del Carmen, Siargao Island, then drive to General Luna to Cloud 9 Surfing Area.

Advice: The General Luna area has over 100 accommodation options for visitors. Motorcycle rides outside the city provide more lodging, restaurants and bars. The annual Siargao Cup competition in September.
