Panglao Island

Panglao Island is land of 94.53 sq kilometers (36,50 sq mi) north of Bohol Sea, located on the Visayas Islands, Bohol Province, Central Visayas Region, Philippines, which is famous for its beautiful coastline. Panglao Island lies to the southwest of the island of Bohol and southeast of Cebu which has white sandy beaches and calm waves.

Panglao Island is one of the beautiful islands including some small coral islands around it. The island has low plains and limestone hills of Maribojoc and one of the geological features found on this island is the Hinagdanan Cave which has an important underground water source where the island has no rivers and lakes.

Panglao is the only small island in the Philippines that does not require a ship to access, only by passing a bridge from the island of Bohol. The island is kidney-shaped and has a population of 79,216 people is surrounded by white sandy beaches and tosca sea is very clear.

The vast coral reefs and waters are home to rare marine life where swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving are a favorite of travelers. Tarsius is a small and endangered primate from nearby Bohol Island. Forest roads surrounded by trees and green foliage will look big round eyes set, other tarsiers fall asleep under large leaves.

The Panglao Marine Biodiversity Project found at least 250 new species of crustaceans and 2,500 new species of molluscs around the island. The project found Panglao Island has more marine biodiversity than Japan and the Mediterranean Sea.
