Garuda Indonesia launched Denpasar-Mumbai direct flight route

Garuda Indonesia on Monday launched the Denpasar-Mumbai direct flight route. The inauguration was the start of the twice-weekly air service on Mondays and Thursdays using the Airbus A330-200 with a capacity of 222 passengers in a business class 36 and 186 economy class service configurations.

President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Pahala N. Mansury, said the opening of the route is one of Garuda Indonesia's efforts to expand its international network, especially in South Asia. The route also saw the number of Indian tourists throughout the year 2017 grew 28.8 percent.

Departure time from Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar will be served at 3.40 pm and arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai at 8.25 pm. The departure schedule from Mumbai will be served at 9.50 pm and will arrive in Denpasar at 7:55 am.

Mansury expects to provide more options for service users who will travel to Mumbai from Denpasar and make it easy for travelers to visit both countries

"The new route further strengthens relations between Indonesia and India through the development of a connectivity base that supports the economy, tourism and socio-cultural. We are optimistic that the traffic potential in Mumbai airport, we can further maximize the Garuda Indonesia market, "said Mansury.

Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) is one of the airports with the highest traffic rates in India. Traffic reaches more than 32 million passengers annually and serves more than 90 destinations worldwide.
